Meatless Monday: Banh Mi
Here it is, the return of Meatless Monday! While everyday of the week is meatless here, it's been a bit since we gave you the break down of one of our delicious dishes. With so many new menu items we have tons to share with you and loads of new blog content coming your way!
          
Today's featured item is the new Banh Mi sandwich! A Banh Mi is a traditional Vietnamese sandwich and we are so excited to bring you our spin on it. The P.S. & Co. Banh Mi bread is made in house using aquafaba. For those of you unfamiliar with this ingredient, aquafaba is water used for soaking chickpeas. It doesn't sound like much but it is the secret ingredient that makes this roll so fluffy! We fill this sandwich with smoked tofu, kraut, pickled jalapeno, cilantro, basil, and finish it off with our red bell pepper aioli. This sandwich is smoky, spicy, and satisfying. As with most things at P.S. & Co. every part of the Banh Mi is made in house. We bake the bread, pickle the veggies, and smoke the tofu right here in our kitchen!
Pickled veggies are great for immunity and aid in digestion. Jalapenos owe their kick to a chemical called capsaicin which has been found to be anti inflammatory and aids in weight loss. Spice up your life and your health! Our organic tofu is packed with protein and will help keep you full all day. All of this makes the Banh Mi the perfect addition to our already filling and nutrient dense Market Menu!
