Don't fret, my pet. Email us your questions at info@puresweets.com. Our hands are usually covered in sticky, sweet messes, which makes answering the phone difficult. Email is the best way to communicate, and we will respond to your request ASAP.
Do I need a PayPal account to pay with PayPal? What payment methods do you accept?
You do not need to register for a PayPal account in order to purchase. PayPal is a safe, reliable method of payment. Pure Sweets does not store any credit card information anywhere on our site or in our databases. Philadelphia customers picking up their orders in person -at our kitchen- may pay with cash or credit card.
May I include a gift message with my order?
Please do. Include your special message in the “Comments, special instructions, or gift messages” box upon checkout.
Do you ship cheesecakes, tarts, pies, or cakes?
(These items are coming in the very near future.) We wish. Unfortunately, we’re unable to package these delectables to survive the trip from us to you. If you’re in the Philadelphia area, we can deliver locally or have your order ready for pick up.
How quickly will my order ship and when can I expect delivery?
Each of our products is made to order and on the road within 24 hours of packaging. Please allow up to 7 business days to receive your order. We offer FedEx Overnight (next business day), FedEx 2 Day (by 4:30pm second business day) and Express Saver (2-3 business days). Each package is carefully packed with dry ice. If our kitchen is near you, you may pick up your order in person and avoid shipping fees altogether.
Do you ship during the summer?
Heck, yeah! We strongly recommend you arrange for your order to be shipped to an address where someone will be able to receive your treats. During the summer months, Pure Sweets treats should be refrigerated or stored in the freezer immediately. If, by chance, your package is left outside for a few hours and the contents of your order soften, simply place your treats in the freezer to restore them to their former glory!
Do you ship to college campuses?
Absolutely. What makes a better care package than a box of healthful treats? Enter college name and any additional information (dorm name, box number, etc.) along with the street address.
Unfortunately, we cannot ship to international locations, PO Boxes, APO or FPO addresses at this time. We're working on affordable shipping rates!
We ship Monday through Friday. If you place an order on Saturday, you will receive the package no later than the following Friday.
Bummer. Please email us right away. We can generally cancel orders up to 3 days before your pick-up or expected delivery date.
Can I return my treats? Do you have any kind of guarantee?
If you are not satisfied with your order it is our priority to make it right. We will do our best to avoid shipping disasters, but unfortunately are not responsible for the following complications: 1) delayed, unclaimed or returned orders (as in an order sent back to us due to an incorrect or undeliverable address or 2) orders delayed by FedEx due to weather or any other unforeseeable circumstances. If we are aware inclement weather is approaching, we will contact you and suggest postponing your order to prevent shipping snafus. Our goal is for you to receive your package as neatly as it left our hands, but that may not always be the case. If your package is greatly damaged, please let us know. We will do our best to make your happy.
How is Pure Sweets different than other vegan or gluten-free products?
We care about sourcing the finest ingredients and focusing on flavor and texture above all else. If it’s not tastier than the traditional version, we won’t waste your time. Every product is tirelessly tested on discriminating omnivores. Ever notice how most vegan or gluten-free desserts just taste sweet and not much else? We strive for deep flavors. Here, the sweetness is subtle. We prefer the richness of nuts and complexities of spices, chocolates and fresh fruits. We also omit grain and bean flours, starches, vegan non-hydrogenated oils, gums and simple sugars. Your taste buds will be more satisfied as a result.
I’m trying to lose weight. Can Pure Sweets products help?
We believe it won't hurt. Pure Sweets products are made with nutritious ingredients. These aren't your ordinary desserts. The more you eat Pure Sweets, the less you'll crave junk-filled ones. Here's a confession: our team eats Pure Sweets every day, and we are lean and mean. Fast metabolism? Not a chance. Besides exercising regularly, we all eat a healthy, balanced diet and Pure Sweets fits right in.
What do you do to be sustainable?
Besides not using any animal products, we compost, recycle, use recyclable or biodegradable packaging supplies and ship orders in used shipping or recyclable boxes. Our kitchen equipment is entirely brand spanking new, thus Energy Star efficient. Our local deliveries are made by foot, bicycle or Prius. Holla! Pure Sweets ingredients are purchased locally when possible. We source our organic fruits and organic Grade B maple syrup from the Mid-Atlantic region and our organic lavender from Carousel Farm Lavender in Bucks County, PA. All other ingredients are purchased from organic purveyors in the Northeast (organic nuts) and small companies such as Singing Dog Vanilla/Red Ape Cinnamon.
Don't look for it, because we don’t want one. Instead, we have a licensed commercial kitchen in the East Falls neighborhood of Philadelphia. It’s all ours, which means our kitchen is absolutely gluten-free, organic, kosher, and vegan. It’s a happy place where imaginations run wild.
What is the shelf life of your products?
Depends on the product. Pure Sweets treats are high maintenance, but the results are so worth it. We do not use preservatives, cheap ingredients or grain flours in our products. (These ingredients extend shelf life and are tough on the body.)
Sweets should be consumed within 1-5 days of receipt if stored in the refrigerator for fresh results. They can be stored up to one month in the freezer.
Cheesecakes, tarts, pies and cakes can be refrigerated up to 5 days, but may not freeze well depending on the item.
Trail mixes and sweet spreads are more shelf stable and can also be stored in the refrigerator up to 3 weeks.
Pure Sweets treats are nut-based and should be stored in airtight containers, refrigerated or kept frozen. All of the macaroons and a few of the cookies (Dingo, Frog, Cuckoo, and Panther) can be served at room temperature or fresh out of the oven for a delicious warm treat, while the bars and other cookies are tastier chilled (Ape and Kitty).
What do you use instead of grain and bean flours?
Freshly ground organic nuts from almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, pistachios, pecans and walnuts. We do use one grain, which is organic gluten-free puffed brown rice in our Protein Bars.
The only soy product we use is Suzanne’s Ricemellow, which is added to Crisp Bars. This vegan marshmallow uses non-gmo soy and sweetened with brown rice syrup.
I have Type 2 Diabetes, are Pure Sweets safe for me?
The honest answer is, check with your physician. Pure Sweets treats are lower in carbohydrates and sugar than other desserts. However, if you suffer from Type 2 diabetes, we suggest you lose the diagnosis first, and then come visit us. We care about you!
I have Celiac Disease and can’t have a molecule of gluten near my food.
We got the memo! Even though Pure Sweets is in the process of gluten-free certifiction with GFCO, we purchase all of our ingredients from gluten-free producers. No gluten-containing products ever enter our kitchen.
Yes, all current Pure Sweets products are certified kosher pareve through EarthKosher. Certificates are available upon request. Once our line of tarts, cheesecakes and pies debut, those items will not be kosher due to the Virgin Oil de Coco Creme used. It's the most superior coconut oil available, but the company has chosen not to continue kosher certification due to costs, even though their products and methods are inherently kosher.
I’m allergic to nuts. Do you offer nut-free items?
We're sorry you're allergic to nuts. We can’t accommodate those with nut allergies at this time. This will change in the future, but best to stay away for now. Even if you are only allergic to one variety, nuts cross-contaminate in Pure Sweets country.
