Meatless Monday: Tea Time

In honor of day one of our 12 days of Christmas giveaway we have a Meatless Monday double header! If you haven't yet, head over to our Instagram for a chance to win today's prize. We're aiming to add a little warmth to your cold and rainy Monday morning with a tin of our organic loose leaf tea and a seasonal coconut butter scone! Have you ever wondered why we source our teas from Rishi? It's because we think what you drink should be just as clean as what you eat. We want to see you steeping a calming cup of chamomile not chemicals! Our expansive selection of teas are not only organic but loose leaf as well. We opt for loose leaf as opposed to bagged tea to ensure you get the most out of every cup. These teas can be steeped multiple times so don't be afraid to ask us for more hot water!

The seasonal scones are my personal favorite pastry. No matter the daily selection, be it sweet potato or apple cinnamon, these scones are the perfect partner to a hot cup of tea. Our scones are made completely in house with a hearty blend of organic millet and brown rice flour. Millet is a versatile gluten free grain high in calcium, magnesium, B vitamins and iron. The secret to keeping these treats crispy on the outside and moist on the inside is coconut oil. By incorporating solid coconut oil into the batter the result is a modern twist on a traditionally buttery breakfast pastry. Coconut oil is full of good fats, specifically medium chain triglycerides. MCTs are quickly broken down by the body to be used as energy. They are also easily converted to ketones to be used as energy by the brain. Coconut oil is an excellent heart healthy alternative to butter in vegan baking.

Stop in and brighten up your Monday!
